Each time an internet user views a page on your website all that data (HTML, images etc) has to be transmitted from the web server to the user's web browser. This is commonly referred to as data transfer or bandwidth usage.
Bandwidth is a metered utility just like water, gas and electricity. Each account allows you to use up to a certain amount of bandwidth per month without incurring any additional fees. The limits are 'burstable' meaning we do not simply switch your website off. Instead you will be billed £3.50 per additional GB. If you continue to exceed your limits you will be upgraded to the next package.
It is hard to predict how much bandwidth you will need, particularly if it is a brand new website, but here is a quick example:
